Orðaleikjum, often translated as wordplay, refers to the clever and often humorous use of language for amusement. Acrostics, where the first letter of each line spells out a word or message, also fall under the umbrella of wordplay, though they often serve a more structural or thematic purpose. Riddles are also a form of wordplay, as they require the solver to decipher a hidden meaning or a clever interpretation of words.
