Országhatáron is a Hungarian term that translates to "national border" or "state border" in English. It refers to the geographical boundary that separates one sovereign state from another, marking the extent of a country's territory and jurisdiction. In Hungary, the concept of országhatáron holds significant legal, political, and cultural importance, as it defines the country's sovereignty and international relations.

Hungary's borders have evolved over centuries, shaped by historical events, treaties, and territorial changes. The current borders were largely established after World War I, when the Treaty of Trianon (1920) redrew the map of Central Europe, significantly reducing Hungary's territory.
