Opsförstärkaren

Opsförstärkaren, or operational amplifier, is a high-gain electronic voltage amplifier with a differential input and typically a single-ended output. The operational amplifier is not intended to amplify a specific mathematical operation but rather to perform the operation of amplification on a signal. They are widely used in signal processing, as a feedback controller, and in many other applications. The name "operational amplifier" arose because they were originally used to perform mathematical operations in analog computers.

An ideal operational amplifier is characterized by infinite open-loop gain, infinite input impedance, zero output impedance, infinite bandwidth, and zero voltage offset. Real operational amplifiers approximate these characteristics to varying degrees. The behavior of an operational amplifier is defined by its input and output voltages and currents, and by its gain. The output voltage is typically a function of the input voltages and the gain.

Operational amplifiers are versatile components and can be configured in a multitude of ways to perform various functions, including amplification, filtering, integration, differentiation, and oscillation. By using external components like resistors and capacitors, the operational amplifier's behavior can be precisely controlled. This flexibility makes them a fundamental building block in analog electronic circuit design.
