Oohenunpa
Oohenunpa is one of the seven major bands of the Lakota Sioux. The name Oohenunpa translates to "two boil" or "two boilings" in the Lakota language, referring to their traditional method of cooking buffalo meat. The Oohenunpa were historically located in the present-day northwestern South Dakota region, often in close proximity to the Sihasapa (Blackfeet) and Miniconjou bands.
Like other Lakota bands, the Oohenunpa were nomadic buffalo hunters, following the herds across the Great Plains.
