Omaishoidosta

Omaishoidosta refers to the unpaid care provided by a family member or close relative to an individual who requires assistance due to age, illness, disability, or other reasons. The person receiving care is often referred to as the care recipient, and the person providing the care is the omaishoitaja (family caregiver).

The intensity and duration of caregiving can also differ greatly, from intermittent help to full-time, round-the-clock support.
