Oliiviöljyjen
Oliiviöljyjen, commonly known as olive oil, is a liquid fat obtained from olives, a traditional tree crop of the Mediterranean region. It is produced by pressing whole olives. Extra virgin olive oil is the most natural and purest form, produced solely by mechanical or other physical means, and characterized by a low acidity level and a distinct flavor profile. Virgin olive oil is also produced mechanically but may have slightly higher acidity. Refined olive oil undergoes processing to neutralize strong flavors and aromas, resulting in a milder taste and a higher smoke point, often blended with virgin or extra virgin oils.
Olive oil is a staple in Mediterranean cuisine, prized for its rich flavor and perceived health benefits.
