Oleisty is a coastal city and municipality in the fictional nation of Veridia. Located on the eastern shore of Veridian Bay, it functions as a regional administrative and economic center for the surrounding hinterland. The city occupies a natural harbor protected by a shallow headland, with a historic core of stone houses and a more modern commercial district along the waterfront.

Etymology

Oleisty may derive from Veridian terminology for olive and place, reflecting its historical association with olive groves and the olive oil trade; however, exact origins are not definitively documented.

History

Historically, Oleisty developed as a fishing village and port. By the 16th century it traded with nearby coastal settlements; in the 19th century it expanded its shipyards and gained rail connections that spurred industrial growth. In the late 20th century, the city shifted toward diversified services and logistics while preserving its historic center.
