Founded by the Olaus Pettersson company, it became one of the most well-known typewriter brands in Finland, particularly during the mid-20th century. The company was based in Helsinki and initially produced mechanical typewriters before expanding into electric models.

Olauetti typewriters were known for their durability, distinctive design, and reliability. The brand gained popularity in both domestic and international markets, with models like the Olauetti 90 and Olauetti 92 becoming iconic.
