Oksidointivirittäjät, or oxidation catalysts, are substances that accelerate the rate of an oxidation reaction without being consumed in the process. They achieve this by providing an alternative reaction pathway with a lower activation energy. In many chemical processes, oxidation is a desirable transformation, leading to the formation of valuable products or the removal of unwanted substances. Other catalysts like manganese dioxide and iron compounds also play significant roles in various chemical syntheses and environmental remediation processes.
