Okrgowa

Okrgowa is a village in the Veridian Highlands of Veridia. It serves as the administrative seat of the municipality of Okrgowa and lies near the Lir River, roughly 60 kilometers north of Veridia City.

The landscape is gently rolling with loamy soil. The climate is temperate, with warm summers and cold winters; average annual precipitation runs about 650 millimeters. Agriculture, particularly cereals and dairy farming, forms the economic base.

Okrgowa is first documented in 1250 as a small farming hamlet. It grew during the 18th century with rural crafts and a wind-powered mill. The 19th century brought railway links and modest industrial growth; consolidation and modernization followed in the late 20th century.

As of the 2020s, the population is around 1,400. The community is predominantly Veridian-speaking, with a small number of seasonal workers and retirees from nearby towns. The local economy also includes a cooperative shop and renewable-energy installations.

Local landmarks include the Church of St. Agnes, built in the 16th century, and the ruins of a hilltop fortress. An annual Harvest Festival in October is the centerpiece of cultural life, complemented by a village library and an amateur theatre group.

Okrgowa is connected by regional roads; the nearest railway station is about 12 kilometers away. There is no airport. The village council governs local matters, under a decentralized municipal framework that coordinates services with the Veridian regional authorities.
