Oilmen are workers and professionals involved in the exploration, extraction, processing, and distribution of petroleum and its products. The term has historically referred to men in the oil industry, though today it is used more generally to describe industry participants regardless of gender. Oilmen include geologists and reservoir engineers who identify prospects, drilling crews who bore wells, production operators who manage flow and pressure, and refinery and distribution workers who convert crude oil into fuels and chemicals.
