Ohrapuuro
ohrapuuro, or barley porridge, is a traditional Finnish hot porridge made by simmering barley groats in water or milk until the grains are tender and the mixture thickens. The dish is usually prepared with a pinch of salt and stirred occasionally to prevent sticking. Depending on the cook and available ingredients, pearl barley may be used to shorten cooking time, while whole barley groats yield a firmer texture and longer cooking time.
