In the Objektisanan model, the object of an action is marked or highlighted within the grammar, making it the central element of the clause. The term combines “object” with a fictional morpheme -isanan that signals salience or focus.

Origin and scope: The concept originates in speculative linguistics as a tool for analyzing how different grammars code object salience. It is not claimed to be present in natural languages, but serves as a framework for comparing object-focused alignment, case marking, and verbal agreement across imagined language families.

Key features: Objektisanan languages may exhibit object-first word order or strong object marking, with verbal or nominal affixes encoding properties of the object (such as size, color, or material) and its role as the referent of interest. The subject may appear late or be reduced when the object is highly salient. The system often combines with focus particles or topic markers to heighten the object’s prominence in discourse.
