Objektiivism

Objectivism is a philosophical system developed by Russian-American writer Ayn Rand. It is characterized by a comprehensive ethical, political, and metaphysical framework. At its core, Objectivism posits that reality exists independently of consciousness, meaning that facts are facts, regardless of whether anyone believes them or not. This forms the basis of its epistemological stance, which holds that reason is man's only means of knowledge and his only guide to action. Objectivism rejects faith, mysticism, and any form of supernaturalism.

Ethically, Objectivism advocates for rational egoism, asserting that each individual's highest moral purpose is the achievement of his own happiness. This means pursuing one's own rational self-interest, which is not to be confused with selfishness or hedonism, but rather a pursuit of long-term, life-serving values. Altruism, the idea that one should sacrifice one's own values for the sake of others, is considered morally destructive.

Politically, Objectivism champions laissez-faire capitalism as the only moral social system. This system is characterized by the protection of individual rights, including property rights, and the complete separation of state and economics. The government's sole function is to protect individual rights from the initiation of physical force. Objectivism opposes all forms of collectivism, socialism, and statism, viewing them as inherently immoral and destructive to human life and prosperity.
