Obecno

Obecno is a municipality and village in Centravia, a fictional European country. It sits as the administrative seat of the Obecno Municipality within the Central District. The settlement has a compact town center surrounded by an agricultural hinterland, with about 2,100 residents living on roughly 12 square kilometers.

The village lies on rolling lowlands near the Obec River, with fertile soils and a temperate climate featuring warm summers and cold winters. The surrounding countryside includes fields, hedgerows, and a protected wetland site for migratory birds.

Obecno is first mentioned in medieval records from the 14th century, when it formed part of a feudal estate. It evolved around a parish church and manor, and later became part of modern Centravian administrative structures. Industrial growth came with road improvements in the 19th century.

Local government consists of a mayor and a small council elected for four-year terms. Municipal services cover primary education, waste management, and planning. The municipality cooperates with neighboring towns on regional infrastructure projects.

The economy centers on agriculture—cereals, dairy, and horticulture—along with small manufacturing and services. Obecno hosts an annual harvest festival and a midsummer market, supported by a local cultural center and volunteer associations.

Notable sites include the parish church of St. Peter (18th century), a restored water mill, and a small local history museum.
