Oakwell

Oakwell is a village and civil parish located in the county of South Yorkshire, England. It lies approximately two miles west of Barnsley town centre. The area is predominantly residential with a mix of housing types. Oakwell has a small local shopping area and a number of public green spaces, including Oakwell Park, which is a popular recreational spot for residents.

Historically, the area was known for its agricultural land. Like much of South Yorkshire, its development in the 19th and 20th centuries was influenced by the industrial revolution, particularly coal mining.
