Oakenfolds is a British electronic music duo, consisting of brothers Richard and Paul Oakenfold. They are known for their contributions to the development of the big beat and trance genres in the 1990s. The duo gained prominence in the mid-1990s with their single "Southern Sun," which became a hit in the UK and Europe. Their debut album, "Southern Sun," was released in 1996 and featured the title track, as well as other popular songs like "Bizzarre Love Triangle" and "Nasty." Oakenfolds' music is characterized by its use of live instrumentation, such as guitars and drums, in addition to electronic elements. They have also been involved in various music festivals and events, including the Glastonbury Festival and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Throughout their career, Oakenfolds have collaborated with numerous artists and have released several more albums, including "A Lively Mind" (1998) and "Bunkka" (2000). Despite their success, the duo has maintained a relatively low profile compared to some other electronic music acts of their era.
