Näönkorjauksen

Näönkorjaus refers to various methods and procedures aimed at improving or restoring a person's vision. These can range from simple corrective lenses to complex surgical interventions. The primary goal of näönkorjaus is to address refractive errors, which occur when the eye does not focus light properly onto the retina, leading to blurred vision. Common refractive errors include myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism. Presbyopia, a common age-related condition causing difficulty with near vision, also falls under the scope of näönkorjaus.

The most widespread form of näönkorjaus involves the use of spectacles or contact lenses. Other surgical options include lens implants, such as intraocular lenses (IOLs) used in cataract surgery or for refractive lens exchange, which replace or supplement the eye's natural lens.
