Näyttölämpötilat

Näyttölämpötilat, or display temperatures, refer to the perceived warmth or coolness of the colors displayed on a screen. This is not a physical measurement of heat but rather a subjective perception influenced by the color balance of the image. Displays can be adjusted to show warmer tones, which have more red and yellow, or cooler tones, which have more blue. The default setting for many displays leans towards cooler temperatures to appear brighter and more vibrant to the average viewer.

Color temperature is measured in Kelvin (K). A lower Kelvin value indicates warmer colors (more red/yellow), while a higher Kelvin value indicates cooler colors (more blue). For example, candlelight has a low color temperature around 1800K, appearing very warm, while daylight has a higher color temperature around 5500K, appearing cooler. In display settings, options often range from around 6500K (standard cool) to 5000K or lower for warmer settings, and potentially above 7500K for very cool settings.

Adjusting display temperature can impact how colors are perceived and can be important for tasks requiring accurate color representation, such as graphic design or photo editing. Many operating systems and devices offer built-in color temperature adjustments, often referred to as "night mode" or "blue light filter," which reduce the amount of blue light emitted by the screen, making it appear warmer and potentially reducing eye strain. Users can also calibrate their displays to achieve a desired and consistent näyttölämpötila.
