Nägemisvälju

Nägemisvälju refers to the entire area that an individual can see when their eyes are fixed in one position. It encompasses both the central vision, which is sharp and detailed, and the peripheral vision, which is less detailed but crucial for detecting movement and spatial awareness. A normal visual field extends outwards significantly, with variations in the extent of vision in different directions.

The integrity of the visual field can be affected by various ocular and neurological conditions. Damage to the optic nerve, retina, or specific areas of the brain responsible for visual processing can lead to blind spots, known as scotomas, or a reduction in the overall visual field.
