Nylonipolymeerit
Nylonipolymeerit, commonly known as nylons, are synthetic polymers composed of repeating amide linkages. The name "nylon" was coined by DuPont chemists in 1938, and the first commercial product was nylon stockings. The synthesis of nylon involves a condensation polymerization reaction between diamines and diacids, or between a diamine and a dicarboxylic acid. Different types of nylon exist, designated by numbers, such as Nylon 6,6 and Nylon 6. These numbers refer to the number of carbon atoms in the repeating monomer units. For example, Nylon 6,6 is formed from a diamine with six carbon atoms and a diacid with six carbon atoms. Nylon 6 is synthesized from a single monomer, caprolactam, which contains six carbon atoms.
