Nyhamna

Nyhamna is a village and site of a major natural gas processing plant located on the Nyhamna peninsula in Aukra Municipality, Møre og Romsdal, Norway. The facility is a key node in Norway's offshore gas system. Gas from the offshore Ormen Lange field is transported onshore to Nyhamna via a subsea pipeline. At Nyhamna, the gas is processed, condensate separated, impurities removed, and dehydration completed before the gas is sent into the Langeled pipeline to the United Kingdom for consumption.

The Nyhamna plant began operations in 2007 as part of the Ormen Lange development. It is operated by Equinor (formerly Statoil) in partnership with other companies and managed in conjunction with the national gas grid operator Gassco. The Langeled pipeline, connecting Nyhamna to the UK's gas network, is one of the world's longest natural gas pipelines and delivers large volumes of gas to Northern Europe.

The site and surrounding area have been developed to support energy infrastructure and local employment. The Nyhamna facility has undergone upgrades to handle increased gas volumes and to support future expansions, including potential carbon capture and storage considerations in broader energy plans.

Geographically, Nyhamna lies on the western coast of Norway, near Molde, and is part of the district of Romsdal. The name derives from its historical farmstead and geographic features in the Nyhamna peninsula.
