Nyíregyházi

Nyíregyháza is a city in northeastern Hungary, serving as the administrative center and economic hub of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county. It is the seventh-largest city in Hungary and one of the major cities of the Northern Great Plain region. The city is located approximately 200 kilometers east of Budapest.

Historically, Nyíregyháza grew from several small villages that merged over time. Its development accelerated in the 19th century, particularly after the establishment of the railway connection, which spurred industrial and commercial growth. The city's name itself is believed to derive from the personal name "Nyír" and "háza," meaning "house" or "homestead."

The Sóstó Zoo, located in the Sóstó Thermal Bath complex, is a significant attraction, showcasing a wide variety of animal species in naturalistic enclosures. The Sóstó Thermal Bath itself offers recreational and therapeutic opportunities.
