National University of Singapore (NUS) is a public autonomous research university located in Singapore. Its roots lie in the early 20th century, beginning with the King Edward VII College of Medicine (founded in 1905) and later evolving through Raffles College and the University of Malaya. In 1980, the University of Singapore merged with Nanyang University to form the National University of Singapore, adopting the current name.
