Novoselic

Krist Anthony Novoselić (born May 16, 1965) is an American musician and political activist who rose to prominence as the bassist of the Seattle-based band Nirvana. He joined Nirvana in 1987 and contributed to their early development as well as to their major-label releases Bleach (1989), Nevermind (1991), and In Utero (1993). He remained with the group through its years of international success and performed on Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged in New York in 1993. The band dissolved in 1994 following Kurt Cobain’s death.

After Nirvana, Novoselić pursued several musical projects, including the bands Sweet 75 and Eyes Adrift, along with other collaborations. In addition to his work in music, he has been active in political and civic causes, using his platform to support issues such as electoral reform and anti-war advocacy.

Born in Compton, California, and raised in Aberdeen, Washington, Novoselić has balanced a career in music with public engagement and advocacy. His legacy in popular music is closely tied to his role in Nirvana and his ongoing involvement in projects that cross musical and social realms.
