Nordmara is a fictional coastal city-state in the northern region of the continent of Brannis, within the realm of Lyria. It functions as the capital of the Nordmarch Province and a major maritime trading hub. The city sits at the estuary of the River Kestrel, with a coastline featuring fjords, sheltered bays and rocky headlands.

History: Nordmara traces its origins to the late first millennium, founded by seafaring clans who established a trading post. It developed as a regional power through the medieval period, joining a northern confederation in 1287, and attaining autonomous city-status after a 15th-century pact. In the modern era it expanded its port facilities and diversified into industry and tourism.
