NordTroms

NordTroms is a municipality located in Troms county, Norway. It was established in 2020 through the merger of the former municipalities of Nordreisa, Kvænangen, and Skjervøy. The administrative center of NordTroms is located in Storslett, in the Nordreisa part of the municipality. The municipality encompasses a significant geographical area in the northernmost part of mainland Norway, characterized by its dramatic coastal landscapes, fjords, and mountains.

The economy of NordTroms is largely based on fishing, aquaculture, and related industries. Tourism also plays an important role, attracting visitors interested in outdoor activities, the Northern Lights, and the unique Arctic environment. The region is known for its rich cultural heritage, with Sami and Kven influences present. Reindeer husbandry is a traditional livelihood for the Sami population in the area.

NordTroms boasts a diverse natural environment, offering opportunities for hiking, fishing, and skiing. The Lyngen Alps, a mountain range partly within the municipality, are a popular destination for mountaineering and skiing. The municipality's location above the Arctic Circle means it experiences the midnight sun during summer and polar night during winter, phenomena that contribute to its unique appeal. Transportation links include Tromsø Airport, Langnes, which serves as a regional hub, and ferry services connecting various coastal communities.
