Nondiacriticizált is a term used in linguistics, particularly in discussions of writing systems and orthography. It refers to a character or a word that has not been modified by diacritics. Diacritics are marks added to letters to indicate variations in pronunciation, stress, or tone, such as accents (e.g., é, à), umlauts (e.g., ü, ö), or cedillas (e.g., ç).

When a text is described as nondiacriticizált, it means that these additional marks have been omitted. This can occur for several reasons. In some digital contexts, particularly in older systems or when dealing with characters that might not be universally supported, diacritics are often removed to ensure compatibility and avoid display issues. For instance, a word like "résumé" might be written as "resume" in a nondiacriticizált form.

The nondiacriticizált representation of a word might rely on context to convey the intended meaning or pronunciation. This is common in informal communication, in certain search engine queries, or when working with languages that have many diacritics but where the full orthography is not strictly required for understanding. However, it can also lead to ambiguity, especially in languages where diacritics are essential for distinguishing between otherwise identical words that have different meanings or pronunciations. The process of removing diacritics is sometimes referred to as "diacritic stripping" or "normalization."
