Noncontrastive

In linguistics, noncontrastive phenomena typically involve variants that do not produce minimal pairs and hence do not change lexical identity.

Prominent examples include BYOL (Bootstrap Your Own Latent) and SimSiam. Noncontrastive methods can be more sample-efficient but require careful design to prevent representation collapse and to ensure that the learned features remain informative.
