NoidaGreater

NoidaGreater is an informal designation for the contiguous urban area formed by the cities of Noida and Greater Noida in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Located in the National Capital Region, the two planned townships constitute a continuous metropolitan belt southeast of Delhi and are linked by major expressways and transit corridors.

Noida was established in 1976 as a planned industrial city under the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA). Greater Noida was later developed to accommodate growth and is administered by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). Together, the two authorities oversee large areas of land, infrastructure, and housing within the district.

Geographically, Noida lies along the eastern bank of the Yamuna River, while Greater Noida lies to the southeast on relatively higher ground, with separate master plans that integrate into a unified urban framework. The region hosts commercial districts, IT parks, shopping centers, and residential sectors, making it a major component of the NCR's economy.

Connectivity is a hallmark, with the Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway enabling rapid road travel, and metro lines operated by Noida Metro connecting to Delhi and other parts of the NCR. The area also benefits from proximity to Indira Gandhi International Airport and ongoing transit and infrastructure projects.

Administratively, Noida and Greater Noida remain under Uttar Pradesh state authority through their development authorities, guiding land use, utilities, and civic services. The term NoidaGreater is used in planning and media contexts to refer to this combined urban agglomeration.
