Nigolan is a fictional island nation in speculative fiction, known for its archipelago geography, cultural diversity, and evolving democratic institutions. It appears in world-building fiction and gaming. The name derives from the original term used by early navigators; in some stories, it refers to the coastlines and the people collectively.

The nation covers a cluster of about 60 islands in a warm temperate to subtropical belt. The terrain ranges from volcanic highlands to coral-fringed lagoons. The main island, Lirion, hosts the majority of population and capital, Vara.

Narratives place the first settlements around the 9th century. Trade networks grew with neighboring regions. In the 19th century, Nigolan experienced external influence and later achieved decolonization, establishing a constitutional framework in the early 20th century and continuing reforms in the present era.
