The Nightsisters were a powerful coven of Force-sensitive females who lived on the planet Dathomir. They were practitioners of a unique form of Force magic, distinct from the Jedi and Sith traditions. Their abilities often involved curses, illusions, and necromancy, drawing power from the planet's natural energies and their connection to the Force. Unlike most Force users, Nightsisters did not rely on traditional lightsaber combat, instead preferring to utilize their potent spellcasting.

Many Nightsisters were subsequently wiped out by the Republic military under Darth Sidious's orders, though a few survived.
