Dooku

Dooku, also known as Count Dooku and Darth Tyranus, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. A human male from the noble House of Serenno, he is introduced as a former Jedi Master who leaves the Jedi Order to pursue his own path. Adopting the Sith title Darth Tyranus, he becomes the right-hand figure of Darth Sidious and the political leader of the Separatist movement during the Clone Wars.

As head of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Dooku helps organize the Separatist Council and the Droid Army, seeking to overthrow the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. He is involved in the early stages of the Clone Wars, recruiting allies such as the Banking Clan and the Techno Union, and shaping the conflict through high-profile duels and diplomacy.

In the films, Dooku is portrayed as a skilled duelist wielding a curved-hilt red lightsaber and is associated with the Makashi combat form. He battles Jedi on multiple fronts, notably dueling Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. His schemes culminate in a duel aboard General Grievous’s flagship, where Anakin defeats him. Before delivering the fatal blow, he tries to sway Anakin to the dark side, but is killed by him on Palpatine’s orders, marking a turning point in Anakin’s fall.

Dooku’s character has appeared across Star Wars media, including films and animated series, and has been portrayed on screen by Christopher Lee and voiced in animation by Corey Burton. His legacy is defined by his role in transitioning the Republic into the era of the Sith-influenced Empire.
