Niepoprawno

Niepoprawno is a seldom-attested Polish noun that appears to be formed from the negation prefix nie- and the root related to "poprawa" or "poprawny" (to correct or to be correct). In standard Polish, the concept of correctness is typically expressed by niepoprawność (incorrectness) or by niepoprawny (incorrect). The form niepoprawno is scarcely documented and is generally regarded as archaic, dialectal, or occasionally stylistic. When it appears in bibliographic records, it is used to denote a state or quality related to being not correct, analogous to "the state of being incorrect" or "impropriety," but its precise sense is not fixed and it is much less common than niepoprawność.

Etymology: It can be traced to the prefix nie- plus the verb or adjective stem popraw-. The suffix -no acts as a nominalizing element in older Polish, producing an abstract noun. The relation to the common noun niepoprawność is etymologically clear, though the latter is the standard form.
