Niemniej

Niemniej is a Polish adverb that translates to "nevertheless," "nonetheless," "however," or "yet" in English. It is used to introduce a contrasting or limiting statement. The word is derived from the Old Polish "nie mniej," meaning "not less."

In Polish grammar, niemniej functions as a conjunctive adverb, connecting two clauses that express a contrast or concession. For example, "Było zimno, niemniej poszliśmy na spacer" translates to "It was cold, nevertheless we went for a walk." The word emphasizes that despite the preceding unfavorable condition, the action in the second clause still occurred.
