Nico

Nico is a given name used in many countries. It is often a diminutive form of Nicola, Nicolas/Nikolai, or Nikola, but it is also widely used as a standalone given name. The name derives from the Greek Nikolaos, meaning "victory of the people."

It is particularly common in Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portuguese-speaking countries, and has been adopted in other language communities as well. In some places it is masculine, in others it may be used for females as a nickname or given name; even within the same language, gender usage can vary by family preference.
