In the constructed history, the Ngbatimi live in the river valleys and foothills of the Ndombe Highlands in the fictional nation of Lomarika. The community is organized around kin-based clans and a customary council of elders that coordinates local governance alongside national institutions.

Language and education: The Ngbatimian language is described as agglutinative, with several noun classes and a rich system of verbal aspect. It is traditionally written with a syllabic script called Ngbara, though literacy in the national language is common in urban areas. Education mixes Ngbatimi schooling with the national curriculum.

Economy and society: The economy is primarily smallholder farming—yams, cassava, maize—and fishing in river systems, supplemented by pottery and metalworking crafts. Markets serve as social hubs, where barter and cash trade coexist. Household kinship groups maintain social obligations and customary law, enforced by the elder council.
