Netzer

Netzer is a small moshav located in the western part of the West Bank, roughly 50 kilometres north of Ramallah. The settlement lies within the jurisdiction of the Samaria Regional Council and is situated near the historic city of Nablus. Established in the early 1949s, Netzer was founded primarily by Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The name, derived from the Hebrew word for “branch,” reflects the agricultural focus of the community.

The moshav’s economy centres on cultivation of olives, citrus fruits, and other Mediterranean crops, with many residents working in nearby olive oil processing facilities. In recent years, a small craft and textile enterprise has emerged, providing additional employment opportunities for the population. Netzer's demographic profile is predominantly young, with a substantial proportion of families with children. The community maintains a mixed educational arrangement, with a local elementary school and transportation links to secondary schools in larger towns.

Netzer is also noteworthy for its interfaith interactions. The village houses both a synagogue and a small mosque, illustrating a degree of religious coexistence.
