Nawazuddin

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, commonly known simply as Nawazuddin, is an Indian actor renowned for his work in Hindi cinema and television. He was born on 19 May 1974 in Budhana, a town in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Siddiqui studied at the National School of Drama in New Delhi and later moved to Mumbai to pursue acting, starting his career in theatre before transitioning to film.

Siddiqui began with small roles in the early 2000s and achieved a breakthrough with Black Friday (2007), directed by Anurag Kashyap. He went on to gain broader recognition through a string of acclaimed performances in Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) and its sequel, as well as in The Lunchbox (2013). His filmography spans crime dramas, biographical pieces, and independent cinema, including Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016) and Manto (2018), in which he portrayed the eponymous writer Saadat Hasan Manto. He also starred in the Netflix series Sacred Games (2018–2019), playing the infamous gangster Ganesh Gaitonde, which expanded his international audience.
