Nasaliseerd is a term used in phonetics and phonology to describe a sound, particularly a vowel, that is produced with the velum lowered, allowing air to escape through the nasal cavity as well as the oral cavity. This contrasts with oral sounds, where the velum is raised, blocking airflow through the nose.
