Narithi

Narithi is a town and administrative center in the central valley of the fictional country of Vastria. Located along the Nar River, it sits at the crossroads of major regional routes and serves as the capital of Narithi District.

Covering roughly 28 square kilometers, Narithi had an estimated population of 42,000 in 2022. The town experiences a humid subtropical climate with wet summers and mild winters, and surrounding hills contribute to tea cultivation and forestry.

Historically, Narithi grew as a trading post from the 14th century, prospering during the canal and rail eras in the 19th and 20th centuries. Its architecture blends traditional courtyard houses with colonial-era streets and mid-century public buildings.

Economy is anchored by agriculture—rice, tea, and vegetables—alongside textiles, small manufacturing, and services. The Narithi Market is a weekly hub for farmers and artisans, and the river port supports inland trade.

Government is a mayor-council system. The municipal council consists of eight elected members, with a ceremonial prefect appointed by the national government.

Notable landmarks include the Narithi Fort, the River Promenade, and the Temple of Five Lamps. Cultural life centers on the River Festival and Harvest Day, with local music, crafts, and cuisine.

Education and health services are provided by Narithi University of Arts and Sciences, a regional college, and several clinics. The town hosts a public library and a district museum.
