Najboljih

Najboljih is a form of the adjective najbolji, meaning “the best,” used in Serbo-Croatian languages such as Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin. It is specifically the genitive plural form, which appears when the noun it modifies is in the genitive plural or when construction requires the genitive case. The superlative is built with the prefix naj- added to the base adjective bolji (better), which in turn derives from dobar (good).

In practice, najboljih functions to describe a group’s top qualities or ranking. It commonly appears after numerals or prepositions, and with nouns in the genitive plural. Examples include phrases likemeđu najboljih deset (among the top ten) and nagrada najboljih igrača (the award for the best players). The form signals a collective sense of excellence rather than specifying a single individual.

Notes on usage: as with other adjectives in these languages, the form of najbolji changes to agree with the noun in gender, number, and case. Najboljih, however, is the genitive plural form and is used in contexts where that case is required, such as after certain numerals or prepositions. In Cyrillic-script writing, the same word appears as најбољих.
