Nagylátószög

Nagylátószög, often translated as wide-angle lens, refers to a lens with a focal length that is shorter than normal, resulting in a wider field of view. This allows a photographer or videographer to capture more of the scene in a single frame. Wide-angle lenses are commonly used in various photographic genres, including landscape, architecture, and interior photography, where the aim is to encompass a broad vista or fit a large subject into the frame.

The effect of a wide-angle lens is that it can make objects appear smaller and farther away than they would with a standard lens. It also exaggerates perspective, making foreground objects appear larger and closer, and background objects appear smaller and more distant. This can be used creatively to emphasize depth and scale. However, wide-angle lenses can also introduce distortion, particularly barrel distortion, where straight lines near the edges of the frame appear to curve outwards. This distortion is more pronounced with extremely wide-angle or fisheye lenses.

A standard lens might have a field of view around 50-60 degrees, while a wide-angle lens can range from 60 degrees up to 180 degrees or even more for fisheye lenses. The shorter the focal length, the wider the angle of view. For example, a 24mm lens on a full-frame camera is considered wide-angle, while a 14mm lens would be ultra-wide-angle.
