Nadoptons

Nadoptons are a term used in speculative physics and science fiction to refer to a class of hypothetical subatomic particles. In most accounts, nadoptons are extremely light, neutral particles that interact only feebly with ordinary matter and with themselves, allowing them to form a pervasive background that permeates the universe. The concept is not part of the established standard model, and there is no experimental evidence for nadoptons.

Origins and definitions vary; some writers describe nadoptons as fermions, others as bosons. Some models assign them a small but nonzero electric charge or a coupling to neutrinos, while others posit completely neutral couplings. Mass is often assumed to be in the sub-eV to keV range, with lifetimes that exceed the age of the universe in some variants.

In cosmology some speculative frameworks invoke nadoptons as components of dark matter or as mediators of a hidden sector, potentially influencing structure formation or cosmic background signals. In science fiction, nadoptons are sometimes invoked as energy carriers or exotic matter enabling faster-than-light effects or other technologies, though such uses are fiction.
