Nabývají

Nabývají is a present-tense form of the Czech verb nabývat, meaning to acquire, gain or obtain something over time. It denotes an ongoing or repeated process rather than a single completed act and is used with subjects in the third person plural (they acquire). The verb is imperfective, emphasizing the process of gaining rather than the moment of attainment.

In Czech, the present tense forms of nabývat are: já nabývám, ty nabýváš, on/ona nabývá, my nabýváme, vy nabýváte, oni nabývají. The form nabývají specifically indicates that the subject (they) are in the middle of acquiring or gaining something. The imperfective verb contrasts with nabýt, its perfective counterpart, which denotes a completed acquisition.
