Nabelnarbe, also known as a belly button scar, is the remnant of the umbilical cord after it is cut shortly after birth. This scar is unique to each individual and its appearance can vary significantly. The umbilical cord serves as the vital lifeline connecting the fetus to the placenta during pregnancy, supplying oxygen and nutrients. Once the baby is born, the cord is no longer needed and is clamped and severed. The small stump of the cord then dries up and falls off naturally within one to three weeks, leaving behind the navel.
