NSYNCs

NSYNC, commonly stylized as *NSYNC, was an American boy band formed in 1995 in Orlando, Florida. The group consisted of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone. It was assembled by manager Lou Pearlman and became one of the leading acts of the late 1990s pop resurgence.

The band released a self-titled album that found success in Europe in 1997 and in the United States in 1998, producing hit singles such as Tearin’ Up My Heart and I Want You Back. Their follow-up album, No Strings Attached (2000), set multiple sales records in its first week in the United States and included the chart-topping singles Bye Bye Bye and It’s Gonna Be Me. The group’s third studio effort, Celebrity (2001), continued their mainstream popularity with songs like Pop and Gone.

NSYNC entered a period of hiatus in 2002 as members pursued individual projects, most notably Justin Timberlake, who later achieved global solo success. Across their active years, the group is credited with selling more than 70 million records worldwide and is widely regarded as one of the most successful boy bands of all time.

While the members have occasionally reunited for performances or special events, NSYNC has not released new material since the early 2000s and remains on hiatus. The band’s influence persists in discussions of late 1990s and early 2000s pop music.
