NCuitgang

Ncuimatingang, commonly referred to as Ncuigung, Ncuiang, or NCui, is a village located in the eastern coast of Papua New Guinea. Specifically, it is situated in the Milne Bay Province, approximately 30 kilometers south of the provincial capital, Alotau.

Geographically, Ncuimatingang is a small coastal settlement, with a relatively flat terrain and a clear view of the surrounding waters. The village is relatively isolated, with limited access to modern amenities such as electricity and internet connectivity.

Residents of Ncuimatingang are primarily from the Pinaisulua speaking groups. They have a rich cultural heritage, with a traditional folklore centered around their gods and monarchs. The social structure of the village revolves around interfamily and intercouse lineage relationships.

Economically, Ncuimatingang primarily relies on subsistence farming and fishing. coconut, banana, and taro are the main crops grown in the village. The François Peron bay surrounding the village serves as the primary fishing grounds where fishers often catch tuna, shrimp, and mackerel.

Housing in the village is simple, with majority residents living in traditional four-sided thatched houses. The climate in Ncuimatingang is generally hot and humid, with temperature ranges varying between 22 and 30 degrees celsius.

Ncuimatingang has a relatively low population density with little human population due to geographical limitations. Despite this, efforts to improve the basic needs of the residents, such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure, have been observed. The high isolation of the village and limited economic aid are major challenges in addressing poverty in Ncuitang.
