NAStukea

NAStukea is a fictional island nation in the North Atlantic, created for speculative fiction and worldbuilding. It is envisioned as a small, coastal democracy with a mixed economy and a comparatively high standard of living for its size.

The state comprises three main islands—Stukea, Naros, and Alvara—and numerous smaller islets. The terrain is rugged and maritime, with rocky coastlines, fjord-like inlets, and peatlands. The climate is cool and temperate, moderated by ocean currents.

Modern NAStukea arose in the late 20th century through the voluntary unification of two historic polities after constitutional reforms. It adopted a written constitution and a parliamentary system in the early 1990s.

The country is a constitutional federation with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The unicameral NAStukean Assembly has 60 seats, filled by proportional representation in elections held every four years.

NAStukea maintains a diversified economy anchored in fisheries, aquaculture, maritime services, and renewable energy, particularly offshore wind and tidal power. Tourism and light manufacturing also contribute. The currency is the NAStukean dollar (NST).

As of the latest estimates, the population is about 420,000. The official language is English; Stukean, a local language with Germanic roots, is widely spoken. The population is predominantly secular, with high literacy and strong social welfare.

Cultural life centers on seafaring heritage, local music, and seafood cuisine. The education system provides universal public schooling and two universities, including the National University of NAStukea.

NAStukea maintains formal diplomatic relations with neighboring regions and participates in regional forums on maritime safety, environmental stewardship, and science collaboration. It pursues a non-aligned foreign policy and favors international cooperation.
