Näsess

Näsess is a Swedish term that translates to "nostril" in English. It refers to either of the two external openings of the nose. Each nostril leads to a nasal cavity, which is part of the respiratory system. The nostrils play a crucial role in breathing, filtering inhaled air, and detecting scents. They are lined with fine hairs called vibrissae, which help to trap dust and other particles before they can enter the respiratory tract. The moist lining within the nostrils also warms and humidifies the air, making it more suitable for the lungs.
